Allison's Thoughts on This Year's American Idol Top 4

Allison did a guest blog on the Hollywood Reporter today about what she thinks of the Top 4 this year on American Idol. Click the source link to see what she had to say about each contestant's Top 4 performances.

First of all, I think this season is great. It was genius to have Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler as judges and to bring some change to the show. And the contestants are awesome! They’re super-talented and you can tell they all get along -- they’re not just there to compete, they want to have fun, take it all in and learn from each other. It’s not all about the contest.

But the top four is also when everybody is super stressed out, and it’s hard to think about yourself as an artist because you’re also thinking about the fans, what the people want, what the judges are going to say, and you’re so close to the Top 3.

Older Life After Idol Article

City Link by the Sun Centinal posted this post-American Idol article abut Allison that was written a couple months ago. It talks about her time on the show, her record, being dropped from Jive, and being on the GlamNation Tour.

What the music industry is, despite its waning power and influence in the Internet Age, is an ugly, unforgiving, sales-obsessed beast. When Jive Records released Iraheta's debut album, Just Like You, this past December, the label had anticipated first-week sales of 75,000 copies. It had to settle for 32,000, a respectable number for most artists not named Carrie Underwood. And as far as debut albums by American Idol graduates go, Just Like You is no Justin Guarini. It's a fun, if unchallenging, collection of songs rooted in the 1980s of Heart and Pat Benatar, a decade the teenage Iraheta missed by only a couple of years.

Allison featured in MTV News's MusicMonday

For MTV News's MusicMonday special, Allison talks about liking Portishead.

Check out the short video here

"Portishead! Third. That's good," Iraheta told MTV News' Jim Cantiello. "It's very mellowed out. I know a lot of people said that it's very different from what they did before. But it's not. It's the same dark stuff. Very soldier, like 'I'm gonna shoot you.'"
